29 March 2023 Workshop “Be a Civil Engineer” organised in the Materials Science and Standardisation Laboratory at Vilnius St. The workshop was organised for 2nd grade pupils of the Kristofors Pro-Gymnasium participating in the events of the Non-Traditional Career Development Day.

During the workshop, pupils carried out creative tasks on wooden trays in the laboratory, observed how the destructive load of silicate concrete, cement mortar and wood is determined, visited an exhibition of building materials, and built a house made of polystyrene foam and a tower of spaghetti and marshmallows.

The workshop was organised by Dr Marija Vaičienė, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, and the first year full-time students of the study programme “Structural Engineering Systems”.
