Dormitories

Every student, especially first-year students, who come to Vilnius to study, has a question: where to live during their studies? The VTDK offers accommodation in five dormitories of the College.

The dormitories offer comfortable living, learning and recreational conditions. All five of the College’s dormitories have the great advantage of being close to the teaching buildings and centrally located in the city.

Students of Vilnius College of Technologies and Design have the opportunity to live in the college’s dormitories at Antakalnio g. 52, Antakalnio g. 56, P. Vileišio g. 20, Statybininkų g. 3, and Grybo g. 39 in Vilnius.

  • Antakalnio st. 52: It is a four-storey dormitory with 63 category I and II rooms. Rooms are single, double and triple, some with balconies. Shared kitchens, showers and toilets are located at the end of the corridor on each floor. The dormitory has sub-dorm category I rooms, i.e. two double rooms with a separate kitchen, toilet and shower.
  • Antakalnio st. 56: A four-storey dormitory with 90 category II rooms. Rooms are single and double, some with balconies. Shared kitchens, showers and toilets are located at the end of the corridor on each floor.
  • Vileišio str. 20: A five-storey dormitory with 100 category II rooms. The rooms are double rooms. Shared kitchens, showers and toilets are located at the end of the corridor on each floor.
  • Statybininkų str. 3: A four-storey dormitory with 120 category I and II rooms. Rooms are available in single, double and triple rooms. Shared kitchens, showers and toilets are located at the end of the corridor on each floor.
  • Grybo str. 39: A five-storey dormitory with 155 rooms in categories II and III. The rooms are doubles and triples. Shared kitchens, showers and toilets are located at the end of the corridor on each floor.

Accommodation in College dormitories:

  • Faculty of Design students;
  • Faculty of Civil Engineering students;
  • Faculty of Technical students;
  • Students in the Vocational Training Department;
  • international students coming to study/undertake project activities;
  • students from other higher education institutions.

Dormitories are allocated on a priority basis:

  1. 1st year students of the VTDK;
  2. Second – to third-year students of the VTDK who have not terminated their rental contracts during the summer months;
  3. Second – to third-year students of the VTDK who wish to live in a dormitory;
  4. students from other higher education institutions.

All first-year students (non-Vilnius residents) who request a dormitory will be allocated a place in the College’s hostel. A fixed-term dormitory lease is concluded for one year of study.

The cost of renting a single place of residence for full-time students is EUR 100.00 per month *.
For part-time students, the cost of renting a single place of residence for one day is EUR 8.00 + EUR 2.00 (“Pillow fee” to Vilnius City Municipality).

Full-time students who wish to live in the College’s dormitories are accommodated in the following order:

  • After signing the Study Contract, you will receive an email in your College-provided email inbox with an application form to be filled in for a place in the dormitory;
  • Confirmation of residence in one of the College’s dormitories is sent to your email;
  • access to all documents in the DOCUMENTS section;
  • the rent is payable (details in the TAXES section). You must bring a copy of the prepaid deposit receipt or a copy of the payment order on your phone when you check in to your assigned dormitory;
  • 1 – 2 September 2023 (10.00-16.00) arrive at the designated hostel. If it is not possible to arrive at the specified time, the administrator of the dormitory must be informed in advance of the scheduled arrival date (see CONTACTS);
  • signing a Fixed-Term Residence Contract in the dormitory;
  • move into the dormitory where you are assigned to live.

Part-time students who wish to live in the College’s dormitories are accommodated in the following order:

  • one week before the start of the session, informs about the need for a dormitory place by filling in https://events.vtdko.lt/bendrabuciai;
  • a confirmation email is sent to the College-provided email account to confirm the allocation of the residence;
  • payment of the hostel fee (details in the TAXES section). You must bring your prepaid deposit slip or a copy of the payment order on your phone when you check in to your assigned dormitory;
  • contact the administrator of the designated dormitory (see CONTACTS) before the first day of the session (Monday) to arrange the arrival time. Bed linen will be provided.
  • Arrive at the hostel at the agreed time, sign the Fixed-Term Residence Contract, and move into the allocated residence in the hostel.

By signing the Agreement, the Tenant confirms that he/she is familiar with the Dormitory Rules, the Electrical Safety, the Gas Stove Use Procedure, the Health and Safety Instructions and the Fire Safety Instructions and undertakes to comply with the provisions of these documents. Ignorance of the Rules, the Electrical Safety, the Gas Stove Procedure, the Health and Safety and Fire Safety Instructions shall not exempt the Tenants from liability for non-compliance.

All students (non-Vilnius residents) of the Vocational Training Department of the VTDK who request a dormitory will be allocated a place to live in the College’s dormitory. The cost of one accommodation for Vocational Training Department students is 80,00 EUR per month.

Pupils are accommodated in the following order:

  • those wishing to rent accommodation in the dormitories of the VTDK shall fill in https://events.vtdko.lt/bendrabuciai;
  • Confirmation of hostel accommodation is sent to the email address on the application form;
  • access to all documents in the DOCUMENTS section;
  • the rent is payable (details in the TAXES section);
  • 1 – 2 September 2023 (10.00-16.00) arrive at the designated hostel. If it is not possible to arrive on the dates indicated, the dormitory administrator must be informed in advance of the scheduled arrival date (see CONTACTS).

The fixed-term dormitory lease is for one year, and VTDK students who wish to live in a dormitory must reserve their accommodation for the following academic year. Students who have lived in the dormitory and wish to stay in the dormitory for the next academic year must fill in the form on the link https://events.vtdko.lt/bendrabuciai-pakartotinis-apgyvendinimas before 30 July to declare their intention to stay in the dormitory.

If a student living in a dormitory does not submit an Application for Re-occupancy in a VTDK dormitory by 30 July, his/her current place in the dormitory will be allocated to other residents.

Students who do not live in a VTDK dormitory but would like to reserve a dormitory room must:

  • fill in the form on the link https://events.vtdko.lt/bendrabuciai about your intention to live in the hostel;
  • to receive an email confirming receipt of your application to the personal email address provided;
  • receive a second email about your accommodation reservation/assignment/non-assignment;
  • upon confirmation of the allocation of a place of residence, consult all the documents in the DOCUMENTS section;
  • pay the rent (details in the TAXES section);
  • Receive an email invitation to sign a Fixed-Term Residence Contract;
  • move into the dormitory by the deadline specified in the letter.

  • The rent for accommodation in the dormitories of the VTDK shall be set by order of the College Director.
  • Fees are due for the current month by the 3rd (third) calendar day of the current month.
  • The first payment of rent is due before the start of the rental period for the current month and in advance for the last month.
  • The Tenant undertakes to pay the rent to the Landlord’s bank account indicated below, with the purpose of the payment being “For the dormitory”. If the payment is not made from the Tenant’s account, the Tenant’s name and personal identification number must be indicated in addition.
  • This amount includes all utility costs related to the running of the dormitory.

We’ll take care of it:

  • Furniture (bed, wardrobe, table, chair, food cupboard);
  • laundry facilities (self-service washing machines/dryers are available for a fee in the dormitories) ;

The tenant has the right to:

  • use your own furniture, household appliances and computer equipment There may be no more than one working refrigerator (with a total capacity of up to 200 litres or an energy efficiency class of at least A or, according to the new designation in force in 2021, at least E), a TV, an electric kettle, a sandwich pan, an air-cooling appliance, in each room (calculated for all the occupants living in the same room together). The use of lighting with garlands and decorations may only be used in accordance with the requirements set out during the festive period, i.e. from 24 December to 5 January, without damaging the walls and ceilings of the premises and without fixing them to the light fittings;
  • to carry out repairs and improvements to the premises, equipment, furniture, other inventory of the Dormitory at his/her own expense, with prior verbal agreement with the Dormitory Administrator. In all cases, the College shall not reimburse the Tenant for the cost of repairs and/or improvements.

The following things need to be taken care of when staying in a dormitory:

  • bed linen (pillow, duvet) and covers, bed sheet and towel;
  • kitchen utensils (cup, plate, cutlery, pot, frying pan, kettle, etc.);
  • The fridge (if needed) is your own, but you should check with your neighbour (some rooms may have one – please check with the dormitory administrator in each case);
  • other items or equipment for personal use.

Dormitory external door card

You will be issued with an external door access card when you arrive at your dormitory. It is programmed to help you get into the dormitory where you are staying.

Important: You must unmark your card yourself both when entering and leaving the dormitory. If you do not stamp your card, you will not be allowed to enter the dormitory.

If you have lost or damaged your card, please contact your dormitory administrator.

Damages for lost or damaged cards – Non-payment fee – €15

We make sure the dormitories are clean, comfortable and safe.

  • Common areas (corridors, halls, kitchens (including stoves, sinks and other equipment and equipment), sanitary facilities (showers and toilets with sanitary appliances, mirrors), main staircases, building entrance areas, and the watchman’s office are wet-cleaned every working day. Cleaning shall start no earlier than 8 a.m.
  • Each dormitory has a cleaner who cleans the common areas of the dormitory every working day.
  • The floors of dormitories’ communal kitchens, showers and toilets are cleaned and disinfected every working day.
  • Dormitory lounges are wet-cleaned at least twice a week.
  • The common balconies of dormitories are cleaned at least once a week.

We would also like to see the residents of the dormitory take care of cleanliness and order:

  • properly maintain and protect the common areas of the room, dormitory and building (doors, windows, ceilings, walls, flooring, etc.);
  • maintaining cleanliness (mopping the floors once a week, removing household waste at least 3 times a week from the communal bins to the designated bins near the dormitory, wiping down surfaces daily, washing dishes) and tidiness (hanging/folding clothes neatly, storing shoes, personal hygiene items, kitchen utensils, etc.), as it is the student’s responsibility to keep their room clean and tidy;
  • Students must not leave perishable food or rubbish in the dormitory for more than three nights.

We live our lives thinking that nothing will happen to us, but we have to be alert to imminent dangers and accidents such as:

  • power outages and/or faults,
  • disruptions and/or failures in the supply of heat,
  • gas supply disruption,
  • water supply disruption, sewerage failures,
  • disruption and/or failure of electronic communications services,
  • Criminal human activity,
  • people’s emotional reactions.

If you observe an emergency situation or a deviation from normal activities, please inform the College’s responsible staff as soon as possible and they will arrange for assistance:
