From 25 March to 12 April, the Faculty of Civil Engineering hosted an Erasmus+ Blended intensive programme (BIP) project with students and lecturers from Lithuania, Estonia, Germany and Spain.
The students involved in the BIP project designed a recreation centre in Nemenčinė and looked for sustainable ways to create buildings that meet the requirements of the Natura 2000 European Ecological Network. “Natura 2000 is the most ambitious and large-scale initiative ever to preserve Europe’s natural heritage.
During the project, the students not only learnt about the international experience in overcoming the challenges of Natura 2000, but also how to work as a team, understand each other, persuade and share knowledge. In addition to working independently in groups, the students were given a variety of tutorials and trainings on climate change, design thinking and its application to finding solutions to problems, techniques for presenting ideas, etc.
The participants also enjoyed a rich cultural programme: they explored the Old Town of Vilnius, visited various museums, etc.
Thank you to the lecturers of the Department of Civil Engineering for their active cooperation and share some of the project’s moments!
