“Erasmus+ teaching visit to Istanbul Gelisim UniversityTurkey

In 2023 year October 9-13 d. Jurgita Ginavičienė and Aurelijus Vaškys, lecturers of the Department of Business and Public Management, and Edita Kačinskienė, lecturer of the Department of Civil Engineering, went to Istanbul Gelisim University in Turkey under the Erasmus+ mobility programme. “Introduction to Logistics”, “Customs Activities”, “Occupational Safety System in Lithuania”.

The lectures introduced students to the concept of logistics, the actors involved in logistics and the supply chain, and discussed the similarities and differences between these concepts. The components, processes and activities of logistics were discussed using practical examples. The history of customs procedures was also presented, with facts on how customs activities, processes and procedures have evolved and developed over time, and examples of shipments where customs activities are integrated into the transport of goods.

In a lecture on the occupational safety system in Lithuania, students were introduced to the main safety criteria and discussed the similarities and differences between the Lithuanian and Turkish safety systems.

Students took part in Kahoot quizzes and discussions on topical issues.

With Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Economics, Administration and Social Sciences, Asst. Prof. Dr. Biray Koçak, Asst. Prof. Dr. Festus Victor Bekun, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yusuf Gürcan Şahin and the staff of the International Relations Department, Alisa Usubova and Pinar Aleyna Doğan, discussed further possibilities of cooperation in the form of faculty and student exchanges, joint publications and participation in international conferences. Much attention was paid to the presentation of the Erasmus+ CIP Intensive Programme “Green Business” and the discussion of the programme.
