The project is financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the measure No 09.1.2-CPVA-V-721 “Development of Sectoral Practical Training Centres” of the Operational Programme for the Investment of the European Union Funds for the period 2014-2020, Priority 9 “Public Education and Increasing the Human Resources Potential”.

The Railway Transport Specialist Training Sector Practical Training Centre provides practical skills training for students of the Vocational Training Department of Vilnius College of Technologies and Design, and employees of companies (e.g. AB Lietuvos geležinkeliai, etc.) involved in railway transport activities.

The aim of the project is to improve the quality of the practical training services provided by the Sectoral Practical Training Centre for the Training of Railway Transport Specialists. In order to achieve the objective of the project, the development of the infrastructure of the Railway Transport Specialist Training Centre was envisaged.

The project has renovated part of the training building at the VGTVPM, purchased new furniture for the training rooms, and acquired modern practical training equipment for train drivers and transport logistics specialists. The modernised premises and equipment will allow to improve the quality of practical training services in the sectoral practical training centre for railway transport specialists, thus developing the qualification skills and adaptability of the trained specialists on the labour market and giving them a competitive advantage on the Lithuanian and EU labour market.

The Project achieved the following results:

1. The 244 m2 premises in the educational building at Islandijos g. 3, Vilnius, have been renovated and adapted to implement the development of practical learning facilities;

2. Significant improvements to the practical training facilities for train drivers, integrating additional equipment sets into the existing training base;

3. Significant improvements in the practical training facilities for rail transport logistics specialists, integrating additional equipment sets into the existing training base.
