On 8-12 May 2023, the Faculty of Civil Engineering (Antakalnio g. 54, Vilnius) hosted the International Engineering Geodesy Practice. Two lecturers from Tallinn University of Applied Sciences (TTK University of Applied Sciences, Estonia) and five students from Tallinn University of Applied Sciences (TTK University of Applied Sciences, Estonia) joined the first-year full-time students of VTDK’s Construction Studies programme and their lecturer Natalia Augūnienė.

The aim of the apprenticeship is to give students practical experience and skills in engineering surveying.

During the International Engineering Geodesy Practicum, working in teams, students carried out engineering geodetic measurements with Leica electronic tacheometers, Nicon automatic levels and GeoMAX digital levels, processed the measurement data and prepared reports on the measurement work. The internship also involved sharing best practices in engineering surveying: lecturers from Tallinn University of Applied Sciences not only presented the Faro laser scanner, but also carried out scanning and data visualisation together with the students.

During this internship, students gained practical skills in geodetic surveying, learned to apply theoretical knowledge in real-life situations and had the opportunity to work with colleagues in international teams.
