June 5 The traditional Design Week kicks off in various Lithuanian cities. This time, our college was not left behind: together with the Technical University of Bialystok, a joint exhibition of design objects and projects was organised in the Hall of Acts of Antakalnis Palace.
In the exhibition entitled “The Space of Human Perception”, lecturers from the Institute of Fine Arts, Faculty of Architecture, BTU, Poland, reveal the transformation of interior elements through human perception and experience, linking their creative ideas to the notion of the “essence of the interior”, which is manifested in the form of decorative lighting fixtures, furniture, and ceramic pieces.
In their coursework and diploma thesis, the students of the Faculty of Design of Vilnius College of Technology and Design explore the conceptual aspects of the formation of living spaces and their subjective perception. The exhibition is complemented by graphic design projects that form the emotional backdrop of the common spaces and photographic works that open up the untapped possibilities of traditional technologies.
The exhibition runs until 12 June. This exhibition showed the possibility of making the College’s common spaces more accessible for cultural events.
