On 25 March 2024, Jurgita Gailiūnaitė-Vaitiekūnienė, Technical Solutions Consultant at Kan-Therm, visited the Engineering Systems Laboratory of the College.

The College presented the equipment of the Engineering Systems Laboratory to the company’s representative, and the guest from Kan-Therm conducted a seminar-training session for the second year full-time students of the Building Engineering Systems Study Programme and presented the company’s software for designing engineering systems. Students will apply the knowledge acquired in this seminar to their Static Design practice. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)

The visit of the technical solutions consultant from Kan-Therm was organised by Rūta Bilinskienė, lecturer at the Department of Civil Engineering.

The nice and useful cooperation between the College and the social partners is well illustrated by the testimonial of Jurgita Gailiūnaitė-Vaitiekūnienė, a representative of the Kan-Therm company, a technical solutions consultant:

“Meeting with lecturer Rūta Bilinskienė and the students of the Construction Engineering Systems study programme was a unique experience for us. As representatives of KAN, we were invited to present our work, products and design and computing technologies to the future engineers.

“Meeting with lecturer Rūta Bilinskienė and the students of the Construction Engineering Systems study programme was a unique experience for us. As representatives of KAN, we were invited to present our work, products and design and computing technologies to the future engineers.

The training immersed students in real construction projects, solving problems and overcoming challenges in design and implementation. We tried to emphasise the importance of accurate calculations, the use of 3D design tools and introduce students to modern solutions.

Students were able to work with the heat loss calculator KAN HL and use its 3D model in KAN SET to design engineering systems.

KAN SET is a comprehensive design aid that combines the calculation of cold and hot water supply systems with circulation, as well as central heating and cooling systems, in a single design. In addition, KAN SET is enriched with the functions of the warm floor module and is continuously improved and updated.

We also showed the students how to work with the Revit plug-in. KAN SET has the ability to export the designed engineering system to the Revit module with all the technical parameters of the hydraulic calculations. All this allows to improve the design of the system and reduce the project time.

These meetings with young professionals have given us an extra burst of energy that encourages us to keep improving. We believe that investing in the education of students and professionals is an investment in the future, and we are proud to be in contact with the professors, providing students with the necessary knowledge and practical experience.

Our products and apps are developed by experienced professionals who are ready to help students with even the most complex projects. If you have any questions, please contact us at www.kan-therm.com.”
