Vilnius College of Technologies and Design (VTCD) is launching the project “Digital Transformation of Education (“EdTech”)”, which aims to foster the implementation of educational innovations based on digital technologies in the education sector.

The project aims to enable innovation and to test and develop the skills of teachers through a tailor-made programme aligned with the Common European Framework of Digital Competences for Educators (“DigCompEdu”).

Participants are teacher-developers who receive training in the Common European Framework of Digital Competences for Educators (DigCompEdu), test new technologies and apply them to their own content. Kaunas Technical College teachers are also participating in the project training.

The project will run throughout this year. By the end of December 2023, at least 14 subjects will have been digitised by the VTDK lecturers, and in the autumn, they will have the opportunity to test some of the digital learning tools with College students and get their feedback on their learning experience.

“Digitising subjects is not the only goal of this project. The project also includes the purchase of equipment for hybrid learning and the development, testing and deployment of a prototype distance/blended learning model.” – says Joana Lapkovskaja, Head of the International Relations and Project Management Unit at the VTDK.

The training is led by the project’s lecturer-consultant Andrej Račkovski, who has more than 25 years of experience in the field of technology-enhanced adult learning and consultancy for educational institutions.
