On 8–12 April 2024, three third-year Mechanical Engineering students participated in the International CNC Operator-Programmer Competition at the Cenfim Training Centre in Oliveira de Azimeish (Portugal), where they came fourth. Student teams from France, Portugal, Denmark, Czech Republic, Estonia and Lithuania competed in the competition. Each team was given one day to program a part and one day to manufacture it. The teams submitted their products to the competition jury, which judged the work over a two-week period according to set criteria. Although our students did not win the prize, it is a great achievement to take part in such a competition and compete with students from different universities.
