Transport logistics: guest lecture “Organisation and management of UAB LIDL logistics”
In 2023 year December 4 d. The lecture “Organisation and Management of UAB LIDL Logistics” was delivered to the 3rd year full-time students of the Transport Logistics study programme by invited guests from UAB LIDL.
The aim of this lecture is to introduce students to the company’s logistics processes and their management, to discuss the necessary conditions and the equipment used for a smooth process, and to present the company’s main sustainability objectives and future prospects.
During the lecture, the guests told the students about the activities of UAB LIDL and its specificity, highlighted the most important conditions to be observed when working with food products, described the cold chain, and presented the tools used to organise and control the processes. The guests introduced the students to the challenges in the storage and transport of food products, identified the main problems and possible solutions, and gave concrete examples. The speakers also gave an overview of the company’s main sustainability principles and discussed employment opportunities within the company.
The students will apply the theoretical and practical knowledge acquired during the lecture by the invited guests from UAB LIDL to the independent and practical assignments of the study subject “Organisation and Management of Freight Transport”.
