Photography courses for those who want to learn photography

Vilnius College of Technology and Design’s Faculty of Design organises photography courses for adults who want to learn photography.

The knowledge and photography skills acquired during the course will help you to get to know your photographic equipment, choose the right settings during the shooting process, creatively compose compositions, choose the right lighting, capture portraits, objects and landscapes, and make a quality selection of photographs.

Photography course programme:

  • Photographic techniques, essential features, camera controls, RAW and jpeg format. Lenses, their specification and use. Basic settings and how they work: ISO, aperture, shutter speed. What is an exhibition. Shooting modes. Other camera functions: white balance, exposure correction.
  • The basics of composition. Essential rules of composition. Image manipulation, angles, focal length. Light and its uses. Studio lighting.
  • Photograph. Photographic genres and their characteristics. Portrait photography. Landscape photography. Photographing objects.
  • Photo selection.
Group: From 3 persons (individual work – 220 Eur)
Start: 23 September 2024
Duration: 4 weeks (8 sessions of 2 academic hours, total: 16 academic hours)
Hours: 2 times a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 18.00-19.30.
Location: Vilnius College of Technology and Design, Olandų str. 16, Vilnius. 360 aud.
Price per person: 160 Eur
Lecturer: Arturas Valiauga, lecturer at the Faculty of Design, VTDK
Materials: Pencils (various softness: HB-6B), charcoal, crayons, eraser, pins or adhesive tape (to secure the paper), paper (can be sketch paper)
