Jonas Čepas

This collection of works shows episodes of the life process. Perhaps the works show obscure processes in the sub-angles, planes, trenches of reality… I am trying to activate visible objects or to inscribe the densities of lines. In the drawings and carvings, figures appear and disappear; I continue the repetitive process. The works from this period come from the fields, the house, the workshop.

Jonas Čepas was born in 1976 and studied at the M. K. Čiurlionis School. 1994-2000 studied at the Vilnius Academy of Arts (Department of Graphic Arts). Since 2002 member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union. 2005-2009 studied at the postgraduate course of the Academy of Fine Arts. Since 2007 works at the Academy of Fine Arts (Graphic Arts Department).
