My name is Koray Oncel, I am Electrical Engineering student from Afyon Kocatepe University in Turkey. I spent 2019-2020 academic year in Vilnius College of Technologies and Design (VTDK) under the Erasmus program and I can truly say that it was an amazing time for me!

The best part of studying at VTDK for me was having a feeling that you are a part of a big family. VTDK is quite a small college (much smaller than my home university), therefore you have a chance here to know people more closer. We always receive support here from the lecturers and Erasmus coordinators. All of the lecturers at VTDK are friendly and the students can reach them without any difficulty.

Erasmus studies at VTDK gave me a good chance to put my theoretical knowledge, which I received at my home university, into practice. The studies at my home university are very theoretical, while at VTDK you have a good opportunity to expand your practical knowledge. I learned a lot of theory at my home university, and at VTDK I had a great chance to see how this theory is put into practice at the laboratories. It is worth mentioning that VTDK has a great number of laboratories available to the students. As for example, there is a TOYOTA technical training centre, where students work with real cars.

Another good thing about studying at VTDK under the Erasmus program is that you do not have any additional expenses for your studies. Once I had a course on the programing of the electrical circuit where we needed to have some particular material for making the circuit. In order to obtain the material we made a list of the necessary things to be bought and gave it to our lecturer. On the following lecture we already had all the necessay materials, which were all covered by the college.

One more amazing thing that I experienced during my Erasmus period at VTDK was my travels. During my holidays that we had over the two semesters I had an opportunity not only to discover various cities and towns around Lithuania, but I also had a great chance to see other countries around. As a result of my travels, I visited a total 12 countries in Europe. It was really an amazing time for me.

I want to say thank you very much to everybody who made my 9 months stay at VTDK so great.

I truly recommend choosing VTDK for Erasmus exchange studies!
